Two IFSD interns were provided with the opportunity to complete a policy insight paper under the guidance from their supervisors.
Shikha Thapa Magar, PhD student at Hebei University was supervised by Dr. Jagadish Timsina and Dr. Hemant Ojha. The policy insight paper is titled Conservation agriculture as a strategy for recovery from COVID-19 in the Indo-Gangetic Plains, co-authored by Shikha Thapa Magar, Dr Jagadish Timsina and Dr. Jagannath Adhikari. Understanding the COVID-19 pandemic impacts on agriculture, this paper explored how conservation agriculture can help with COVID-19 recovery in the Indo-Gangetic Plains. The authors highlight the benefits of conservation agriculture method for better agricultural productivity further mentioning the need for better policies to support small farmers. The post recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in agricultural trade opportunities for developing countries.
