For more than 50 years now, we have been doing Participatory Research to solve community problems and sustainability challenges. We have also improved this strategy of engagement and learning continually over time.

Yet, we achieved limited results. It is now time to fundamentally rethink Participatory Research, beyond the Western frame of mind which shaped the underpinnings of this approach.

It is now high time to recognise seriously the Eastern / Southern / Local / Indigenous / Pragmatic ways of knowing, and then develop a strategy through which we can effectively mobilise non-western culture (while still retaining numerous Western scientific tools) to develop a transformative, fulfilling,  and engaged program of research, collective learning, and social change.

This Webinar advances a locally engaged research program by considering these strategies.
