For researchers committed to creating positive impact on the society, sharing research insights with a global ‘research-for-development’ organisation is a special moment. IFSD Director Dr Ojha was invited by Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) to share experience of linking research with policy in natural resources management. As well as practical insights, he used a conceptual framework for research-policy impact management, drawing on his 15 years of work on the topic. The event became a highly interactive moment – sparking discussions on how “research to policy” impact can be maximised through reframing a number of action elements in a pragmatic way – research practice, partnership, capacity strengthening, researcher positionally, research-policy timing, and communication strategies.
